Young Researchers in Science: “Jugend forscht”

The NTK and “Jugend forscht”

As scientifically-oriented school, the support of this competition by the NTK is a matter of course. Not only the equipment pool and the comprehensive school know-how contribute to the success of this project in which so many young researchers work.

In particular, the orientation of the regional competition of the Southern Palatinate in the technical rooms of NTK create a good working relationship with other schools and inspire experimentation, curiosity and scientific enthusiasm amongst the pupils.

Since 1996, the regional competition has been regularly aligned with the NTK. Since 2010 there has been a joint sponsorship of NTK and Mercedes-Benz in Wörth of the regional competition of the Southern Palatinate.

The Competition

Young Reseachers in Science – is a competition for scientifically- and technically- interested youth, founded by the Stern magazine, supported by the Stiftung Jugend forscht e.V., the German government, schools and the German industry. Research and development takes place in seven disciplines – biology, chemistry, earth and space sciences, mathematics / computer science, physics, technology and the world of work. The competition takes place in two sections: experiments by students up to the age of 15 years and then from 15 to 21 years as youth research. The evaluation of the work and selection of the winner is made by a team of judges who are representatives of schools, industry and science.
