The Natural Sciences Technikum Dr. Künkele (NTK) is a private school with 70 years of experience in training technical assistants in the natural sciences and in the health sector.

In its long history, the school has always broken new ground and thus decisively diversified the job descriptions of the technical assistance professions. The training courses for biological-technical assistants and environmental-technical assistants were conceived and offered here for the first time.

The NTK is one of nationwide five schools at which the first modules of BTA-training were offered comparable to the quality standards of the undergraduate biology degree study programmes at German universities and which were accredited by the Higher Education Accreditation Agency AQAS under the umbrella of the VBIO.

Many other activities, such as the UNESCO project work, youth research and a wide range of other events characterize the living tradition of the school.

Since 1994, the school sponsor has been a cooperative venture of all employees. They contribute not only to the technical and teaching responsiblities, but also to the economic responsibility.
